As 2014 begins to pick up steam, and the holi-daze fade into memory, ‘The Old No. 5s’ would like to thank the many faces and fans that crossed our path in 2013. The year brought many firsts for the band, including the release of our first album “SourMash” in June, and competing in three International Blues Competitions (and being fortunate enough to represent the Topeka Blues Society in Memphis in 2014). Averaging nearly 150 shows for the past two years, we have had the privilege of playing to audiences in Wichita, Emporia, Topeka, St. Joseph, St. Louis, and some of our favorite haunts throughout the Kansas City metro. We feel fortunate to have made so many new friends, and blessed to have had the opportunity to share the stage with some of our favorite artists!
2014 already has lots for us to get excited about, as we will be competing at the International Blues Competition in Memphis January 21st-28th! As well as working on the follow up to “SourMash” which should be available by the end of 2014. We hope to bring our music to new markets and continue to expand our fan base by playing as much as possible!! See you at the clubs!
